A tutorial on how to build a basic Sound Sequencer circuit.

This circuit was built out of the following circuits and changes described below (click on each one to watch how to make them yourself):

555 Pulsator

R1 was replaced with 100K Resistor, R2 with 100K POT and C1 with 0.47uF Capacitor.

LS163 Binary Counter

Connect the output from the 555 to the clock input of the LS163.

LS138 3to8 Line Decoder

Connect output bits 0,1 and 2 from the LS163 to the A,B and C inputs of the LS138.

555 Tone Generator

Make 4 duplicated tone generators. R1 was replaced by 100K POT, R2 was replaced by 100K POT, C1 replaced for 22nF Capacitor, C2 replaced for 10uF Capacitor. Each output from the LS138 is connected to the base of a PNP (BC557) transistor which acts as a switch to provide current to the Discharge pin of each tone generator (feeding R1). The button is between R1 (POT) and Discharge pin 7 of the tone generator.
